This Saturday, we officially move into the spring season, even if the weather forecast shows rain. Every March 21, the world celebrates Spring Equinox and so, the Hambis Municipal Museum of Printmaking marks the day with a special event.

On a mission to welcome spring and celebrate World Storytelling Day on March 20 and World Poetry Day on March 21, the museum hosts Songs and Tales of Spring this Saturday.

Nicoletta Demetriou on vocals, Christina Polykarpou on lyra and Symeon Merkouris on lute, will lead audiences on a musical, poetic and storytelling journey through Cypriot songs, poems, stories and folktales that celebrate the rebirth of nature and humanity.

The evening will start at 7pm and is offered with free admission as it is part of the Deputy Ministry of Culture’s programme Culture II.

Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so audience members are advised to head there early to grab a spot and call in advance to register.

The event is part of the series Songs and Tales at the Museum and is co-organised by the Hambis Municipal Museum of Printmaking and the Cypriot Music Archive, with the support of the Centre for Scientific Research.
