A live music experience in a rural village is coming up soon as the AVLI Sessions return, reactivating traditional Cypriot courtyards as intimate cultural spaces. This spring, the music evenings make their comeback to the mountain village of Vavla for their second open-air gathering. Hosted in the courtyard of Vavla Rustic Retreat, the event will welcome two musicians to the floor on April 4.

For this edition, Freedom Candlemaker and Nama Dama share the stage in a performance under the spring sky. Freedom Candlemaker is known for his atmospheric songwriting and live performances that balance intimacy with quiet intensity, while Nama Dama moves between ritual and contemporary composition, drawing from polyphony, minimalism and multicultural influences. Both artists have performed at Glastonbury Festival in the UK among other noteworthy performances and both released new albums in 2025.

The evening extends beyond music, though. A selection of local wines curated by Tablecloth will be available, alongside local products by Vavla’s Treasures, supporting local producers. The collaborative, local characteristics of the event amplifies the mission of AVLI Sessions to foreground rural hospitality, artistic presence and support of local businesses. This is an intimate event, open to a small number of audience members, so those who want to attend should book a spot soon.
