French guitarist Edith Pageaud is celebrated for her imaginative artistry and distinctive approach to the guitar. The sought-after musician lands in Cyprus this April as part of the 20th EGTA Guitar Festival organised in collaboration with the Pharos Arts Foundation.
On April 24, Nicosia audiences will be treated to a dynamic guitar recital as Pageaud performs at The Shoe Factory at 8.30pm. With a repertoire that reflects her gift for reimagining the music of great composers for the guitar, the artist will perform works by Mertz, Glass, Schubert, Biber, Rachmaninov, Scarlatti, Rameau, Kapsberger, Piazzolla and Tansman.
Organisers say “Pageaud has rapidly emerged as one of the most remarkable young voices of her generation. Winner of several important international competitions including the Drôme de Guitares International Competition, the Roland Dyens Révélation Guitare Classique Competition, the Florence International Guitar Competition and the Rust International Guitar Competition, Pageaud has drawn particular attention for her striking personal arrangements of works by classical masters originally written for other instruments.”
Following performances across Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States, the classical guitarist, professor and international concert artist arrives in Cyprus for one night only.
