A new group exhibition in Paphos brings together 22 artists of 14 nationalities. Beyond the Surface opens at Ibrahim’s Khan Art Gallery on Friday for three days only, featuring a collection of paintings, sculpture, mosaic and ceramic art.
Curated and organised by Elham Razani, the exhibition celebrates creativity, cultural exchange and the power of art to connect people from different backgrounds. Razani says the exhibition is intended to create a meeting place where artists can share their work, support one another and engage with the wider community.
“Each artist brings a different story, culture and way of seeing the world,” she comments. “When these voices come together under one roof, something meaningful happens.”
Beyond the Surface explores themes of identity, emotion and shared humanity. It reflects the belief that art has a language of its own, capable of crossing borders, cultures and personal experiences. Every artwork contributes to a wider conversation, inviting visitors to look beyond appearances and discover the deeper stories within.
The exhibition also highlights the importance of bringing art into the heart of the community. By gathering artists and audiences in one place, it aims to encourage dialogue, inspiration and a deeper appreciation of creativity as a force that unites people.
For curator Razani, the exhibition is also a chance to highlight and celebrate local Cypriot wineries, giving special thanks to Ezousa Winery for sponsoring the exhibition.
“While creating opportunities for artists to be seen, I also want to support local wineries in Cyprus,” she says.
