Police are investigating the organisers of a Halloween party in Limassol after 13 teens aged 15, 16 and 17 were taken to hospital following excessive alcohol consumption, with all of them discharged on Monday.
The party took place on Saturday night at a well-known entertainment venue in Limassol.
Police spokesman Michalis Michael said officers were examining offences relating to the illegal entry of minors into a nightclub and the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages to them.
Limassol Deputy Police Chief Lefteris Kyriakou, speaking on CyBC radio, said officers had identified the 13 minors, whose health problems appeared to stem from drinking.
Statements have been taken from their parents.
Kyriakou said the parents had been told the event would be held at a different location and without alcohol.
Police are continuing to take statements and gather information to establish who organised the party and who was responsible for supplying alcohol to those under 18.
The case came to light after a member of the public posted a complaint on social media alleging that a party for minors had been organised at the venue and that alcohol was consumed in excess, leaving several children requiring hospitalisation.
