Police are continuing investigations into the murder of 61-year-old Olga Vasilieva as divers recovered her phone from the sea in the Moni area of Limassol, reports said on Wednesday.
The search for the phone was conducted following a tip-off of her 43-year-old partner, who has since admitted to her killing.
The mobile phone was seized and is currently undergoing examinations, according to Philenews.
Moni was the last point from which Vasilieva’s phone transmitted a signal on the afternoon of October 21.
Her body was found in a well in a remote field in Moniatis on Sunday, after she had been reported missing for more than one week,
Her partner is the main suspect in the case.

He had initially denied being involved but later confessed to Vasilieva’s murder and told the police where he had disposed of the body.
Investigations have so far revealed that the murder occurred in context of a dispute over money that had erupted between the two after the 43-year-old pressed Vasilieva for a sum of approximately €70,000, claiming he needed the money as compensation for a car accident that he had caused.
Police found no record of such an incident.
He later admitted that he had lied to extort the money, although putting the sum at €15,000 to €20,000.
The phone is being treated as a key piece of evidence in reconstructing the circumstances of the murder.
He was remanded in police custody on Saturday for six days.
