Folklore and traditional dances from the region will continue to be presented around Limassol this week as the Euro-Mediterranean Festival of Traditional Dances has returned. Different locations throughout the city will host dances and celebrate different cultures. This year, dance groups from Greece, Egypt, Georgia and Cyprus are taking part.

The performances will move to the square next to the Misiaouli and Kavazoglou roundabout on Wednesday and Thursday, with dances at the Zakaki Church yard of Ayia Varvara. All the participating groups will be presented at all events, both those that have come from abroad and the local dance groups.

The festival’s closing ceremony and event will take place on Saturday at the Marios Tokas Municipal Garden Theatre, wrapping up the four-day event with even more traditional music and dances from Europe and the Mediterranean. The final event of the festival is the only one that has an entrance fee of €5, all other dance performances are free to attend!
