Police on Saturday said that they were investigating an incident of suspected illegal employment in the Famagusta district.

According to a statement by the police, officers identified two third-country nationals, aged 27 and 23, who, while legally residing in Cyprus, were illegally employed by an Ayia Napa bar, touting tickets to people passing by the establishment.

The two individuals were arrested and taken to the Ayia Napa police station before being released ahead of a court appearance.

The police are also investigating the bar owner for illegally employing the two individuals.
