Hermes Airports has become the only airport operator to hold Platinum Accreditation in both People and Wellbeing, from Investors in People (IIP). These two important accreditations highlight the importance the organisation places on Human Resource management. At the same time, they reflect Hermes Airports’ consistent efforts to develop and implement initiatives that place people at the core, providing them with developmental opportunities both professionally and personally.
IIP is an internationally-recognised standard that encourages organisations to implement best practices in the management and development of human resources. At the same time, it reflects the latest workplace trends, essential skills and effective structures required to outperform in any industry. Only 2 per cent of international organisations currently accredited with the IIP standard hold the Platinum level. Meanwhile, out of 61 companies in the Transportation industry, Hermes Airports now ranks fifth from its initial eighth position in 2021.

Since 2019, Hermes Airports has consistently held the Platinum IIP accreditation, recognised for its high standards in People practices. This year’s upgrade from Gold to Platinum level for Wellbeing recognises the wellbeing policies and initiatives of the organisation, such as the “Evexia | Being Well” programme, implemented since 2017. The programme includes initiatives like the annual Employee Appreciation Week, on-site blood tests, and free, anonymous psychological support for those who need it.

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, hailed the achievement. “We would like to congratulate Hermes Airports,” he said. “Platinum accreditation on We invest in People and We invest in Wellbeing is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places Hermes Airports in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people and wellbeing.”
Hermes Airports Director of HR & Executive Coach Natasa Iacovides also expressed appreciation for the accomplishment. “The double Platinum accreditation reaffirms and recognises our people practices,” she noted. “At Hermes Airports, we believe that every organisation is as strong as its people. Establishing a culture based on respect, appreciation, and the empowerment of our people has always been our goal. We are very proud of our team, who, through their dedication and enthusiasm, have made this success a reality.”
