Fire damaged a nursery school in Nicosia’s Anthoupolis on Saturday night, the fire service said on Sunday.

The entrance to the school and some equipment were affected by the fire.

The fire service received a call at about 11pm on Saturday that there was a fire at the nursery located within the housing estate in Anthoupolis.

From the fire and smoke, the entrance to the school suffered extensive damages while cupboards and chairs in addition to other school supplies were also damaged.

Fire officers had to wear breathing equipment to enter the school and put out the fire.

The fire service and the police are now investigating its cause.
