Part of the Nicosia-Limassol highway closed on Sunday afternoon after a traffic accident saw parts of the affected vehicle spread on the tarmac was later re-opened.

The right lane and part of the left one in the direction of Limassol near the Kofinou exit was closed.

At around 3pm the driver of a car lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the barrier near the Kornos exit and remained stationary, closing the lane.

Parts of the car were spread around the right lane, leading also to its closure.

The police called on drivers to be cautious in the area and obey police instructions.
