Alter Ego Media, through its venture capital arm Alter Ego Ventures, has acquired a 1 per cent stake in CH Game Development Software Limited, investing €110,000 in the Cyprus-based eGaming company.
The details of the transaction were disclosed in an official announcement released on Wednesday.
CH Game Development has developed Couch Heroes, a gamified platform which, according to the same announcement, “offers distinctive benefits for both developers and users, aiming to unlock untapped value in the video games sector”.
Headquartered in Cyprus and Greece, the company operates under a ‘Gamers First’ philosophy.
It said that it “promotes a culture of creativity and innovation, with the goal of revitalising the Greek gaming community and inspiring a new generation of game developers.”
The investment forms part of Alter Ego Media’s broader strategy to tap into the growth potential of the eGaming sector and create synergies with the group’s wider operations.
“Alter Ego Ventures, the group’s corporate venture capital arm, targets businesses with strong growth prospects and strategic alignment”, the statement concluded.
