Applications are now open for the 2025 the 8th annual ‘Young Entrepreneurship Awards’, organised by Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve)  announced.

The chamber also noted that the event will be held under the auspices of president Nikos Christodoulides.

The initiative is organised by Keve in collaboration with Thessalonikis Dromena, with support from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, Hellenic Bank, and the Cyprus Youth Organisation.

Now in its eighth year, the annual awards aim to honour businesspeople under the age of 40 who are actively shaping Cyprus’ economic and social landscape.

As Keve explained, the initiative is open both to self-made entrepreneurs and to younger professionals who have taken over long-standing family businesses.

“The awards recognise more than just success, they reward leadership, creativity, responsibility and vision,” Keve said.

“Candidates will be assessed on how they’ve made a difference, not only through business results but also through their social and environmental contribution.”

Furthermore, applications are open to entrepreneurs active across a broad range of sectors, including commerce, industry, services, tourism, shipping, research and innovation, culture and the arts.

A special committee will evaluate all nominations, taking into account originality, measurable results, and the clarity of the entrepreneur’s personal involvement in the business.

According to Keve, a key emphasis this year will be placed on social and corporate entrepreneurship.

“Initiatives that promote entrepreneurship within underprivileged groups will be viewed positively,” Keve said.

The selection criteria also include the candidate’s public profile, their ability to lead, and the strength of their vision — particularly in areas such as corporate responsibility, business development and financial planning.

It is also noted that support for green practices will be considered essential.

According to Keve, businesses that promote resource efficiency or help develop green skills are encouraged to apply. International outreach and export orientation will also weigh into the final decision.

Nominations must be submitted by June 16 by using the following link. The awards will be presented during a ceremony on October 8.
