A 14-year-old boy was injured on Sunday when the car he was driving on a rural road in Athienou overturned.
The accident happened under circumstances being investigated by the police at about 10.30am.
According to the police, he seemed to be wearing a seatbelt.
As a result of the accident the boy was injured.
He was taken to Larnaca general hospital, where doctors described his condition as serious, before being transferred to Makarios hospital in Nicosia.
The car belongs to a relative of the boy, who has been arrested.
Police are now trying to work out the details of the accident although a police source told the Cyprus News Agency, the vehicle was speeding.
