Police arrested two men aged 41 and 39 on Wednesday in connection with an attempted murder that occurred on Monday evening in Limassol.

The arrests were made under court warrants, and both men are expected to appear before the court later on Wednesday for a detention hearing.

Six other individuals remain in custody over the case, including a 32-year-old remanded for eight days for firing shots, while five others were remanded for four days.

Police said “an altercation involved two groups of Iranians and escalated when one individual pulled out a pistol and fired several shots.”

The force said it is investigating a case of attempted murder.
