Two men were arrested shortly after midnight in Ayia Napa after police found one carrying a stick and the other a bottle, police said on Friday.

One of the men, who appeared to be intoxicated, pushed an officer during questioning and was arrested on the spot for assaulting a police officer.

Both suspects were also arrested for possessing offensive instruments and are expected to appear before court on Friday.
