Two people have been arrested in Paphos on suspicion of stealing more than 150 kilograms worth of electricity cables from the electricity authority (EAC), the police said on Thursday.
According to the police, the cables were found on the premises of two metal trading companies, with it being found that the cables in their possession are of a type exclusively used by the EAC.
In total, 50 kilograms were found at one premises and 100 kilograms were found at the other.
The owners of both premises were arrested, charged in writing, and released, and are expected to be summoned to court at a later date.
