Neapolis University Pafos (NUP) announces the launch of its new distance-learning Master’s Programme (MA) in Economic Crime and Criminal Justice, which will admit its first students in the 2026–2027 academic year. The innovative programme addresses growing demands for the prevention, investigation and tackling of financial crime in an ever-evolving digital and international business environment.
The programme is delivered entirely online, lasts three academic semesters, is worth 90 ECTS credits and is taught in Greek. It is aimed at both recent graduates and professionals who wish to acquire specialist knowledge in the fields of economic crime, regulatory compliance and criminal justice.
Unlike programmes that focus exclusively on compliance or criminology, the programme takes a holistic and comprehensive approach to the entire cycle of economic crime — from prevention and detection through to investigation, asset recovery, prosecution and the administration of criminal justice. At the same time, it examines the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies, digital payments, cybercrime and cross-border criminal activities from a European and international perspective.
The programme combines the legal framework, criminal justice, financial compliance (AML/CFT), financial investigation, finance and emerging technologies. Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of real-life cases and practical professional scenarios, so that graduates can respond to the complex challenges of modern economic crime.
Teaching is supported by the research-active academic environment at Neapolis University and draws on the expertise of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence AI-2-TRACE-CRIME and the UNESCO Chair in Human Development, Security and the Fight against Transnational Crime and the Illicit Trafficking of Cultural Property.
The distance-learning approach enables students to combine their academic studies with their professional and personal commitments. There is growing demand for professionals in this field within banks, financial institutions and compliance departments, as well as in law firms and accountancy firms, fintech companies, public and supervisory authorities, law enforcement agencies, international organisations and European institutions.
