A fire which broke out in a car in the Nicosia suburb of Aglandjia is believed to have been started deliberately, the police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the fire brigade was alerted to the fire at around 12.25pm on Monday, and the fire was brought under control within 25 minutes of the call.

However, the car suffered damage to its engine compartment and interior as a result of the fire.

A culprit has not yet been found.
