SBA police reported 30 arrests in the past week during summer operations, including three for drug-related driving offences, authorities announced on Tuesday.

Officers carried out 20 road safety campaigns, resulting in 33 fixed penalty notices and 34 written cautions.

In Akrotiri on Sunday, a driver tested positive for cocaine and opium and was also over the legal alcohol limit.

Police seized a small quantity of suspected cocaine, while the passenger was arrested after cannabis and drug paraphernalia were found.

Officers in Episkopi arrested three people after a driver tested positive for methamphetamines and cannabis.

A search also found cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a knife.

In Dhekelia, another driver was stopped for dangerous driving and tested positive for cannabis, which was also found in his possession.

Police said targeted patrols and checks will continue as summer operations conclude.
