A 25 year old man was arrested in Nicosia over allegations that he defrauded 18 people of more than €500,000 through cryptocurrency investments, police said on Friday.

The suspect allegedly took the money between June 15, 2025 and April 1, 2026.

He appeared before court on Friday and was remanded for seven days while authorities investigate suspected theft, money laundering and betting law offences.
