Another packed weekend is coming up with events and festivals beginning on Thursday and Friday. Without further ado, here is what you can see, do, taste and enjoy!

Thursday

Paphos’ beloved Technopolis 20 welcomes renowned Cypriot pianist Manolis Neophytou on Thursday for a solo piano recital. Starting at 8pm, he will perform a rich programme featuring works by Bach, Chopin, Scriabin, Lyadov, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Andronikou and Hadjidakis.

In Nicosia, another edition of On Bodies Festival returns with performances and events from Thursday to Sunday. A series of performances will take place at Dance House Lefkosia as well as one at Athalassa Park on Friday 5pm, all addressing this year’s theme of resilience.

Also making its comeback this weekend is the Limassol Boat Show, the largest boat show in the Eastern Mediterranean region. Indeed, it gathers more than 120 exhibitors at the Limassol Marina. Opening on Thursday and running until Sunday, it will showcase yachts and all sorts of boats, entertain with live concerts, performances and watersports demonstrations, live cooking shows and also include an international yachting conference.

Friday

Next, it is time for street food and music to take over as the Seaside Street Food Festival fills the Paphos Medieval Castle Square with food stalls, beer stands, cocktail bars and music stages. From 6pm until midnight, a festive atmosphere will entertain visitors not just for one day but three, as the event is on until Sunday. Choose from BBQ ribs, German hot dogs, burgers, Mexican food and many other world cuisines.

In Nicosia, the 3rd Ibero-American Film Festival will screen the film El Sembrador at Pantheon Cinema. In its original Spanish, the screening will include English/Greek subtitles.

Also commencing a new series is the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, as it brings back its Orchestra 4 All 3 shows in rural municipalities. On Friday, the musicians will perform at Tala Amphitheatre in Paphos before moving on to other small municipalities next week.

Book lovers can enjoy the bazaar at Soloneion Book Centre this Friday and Saturday with discount offers up to 80 per cent. Throughout the two days, you will find children’s books, Greek and English fiction, Cypriot poetry and literature, history, geography and music music, travel guides, foreign literature, self-help books and much more. Head over on Friday between 5pm and 9pm and on Saturday between 9am and 6pm. If you cannot make it, fear not, it will be on next week as well.

The Nicosia Municipal Gardens will be a hub for conversation, a generator for change and a platform for equal rights this Saturday and Sunday as Femme Fest Cyprus 2025 takes place with a rich agenda of speakers, activists, information stands, markets, performances and dialogue promoting gender equality and amplifying women’s voices.

Nearby at Pantheon Theatre, the documentary film Becoming Led Zeppelin will be screened at 6pm and 8.30pm. It explores the origins of this iconic group and their meteoric rise in just one year against all the odds, told in Led Zeppelin’s own words. Catch its two screenings to see never-before-seen footage, performances, and music.

Sunday

More festivals will take place on Sunday including the Film Festival on Diversity which coincides with Femme Fest, with a talk at 6.30pm on women in the cinema and audiovisual world of Cyprus. In Tersefanou, the Snail Festival will take place between 3pm and 10pm. Three chefs will prepare snail dishes for the public to taste for free, while a live music programme and handicraft workshops are on.

In Larnaca, the Tudor Inn Bar & Restaurant will host the Cypriot-Australian poet Koraly Dimitriadis as she performs one of her short stories, The Mother Must Die. She will then be joined by award-winning short story writers Constantia Soteriou and Cypriot-Australian Erini Loucaides for a conversation and a Q&A. The event will be held at 6pm in English.

Curlyheads in Nicosia have an exciting event to look forward to on Sunday as the local curls specialists Boucles Project host a one-of-a-kind Curls Masterclass with Zaina, the founder of the global brand CurlyEllie. Two sessions will take place at A+ Multipurpose Event Space, one between 10am and 1pm and another at 2pm-5pm – both in English.

The event will also include the star of the brand herself, Ellie, and the CurlyEllie team of experts, offering participants a chance to learn from two of the UK’s most sought-after curly hair specialists — Lindsey Curl Whisperer and Allan Mckechnie. Live demonstrations on styling, refreshing techniques and a Q&A for burning curly questions will take place. What a weekend!
