Coronavirus: 86% of adult population fully vaccinated

Eighty six per cent of the adult population in Cyprus had been fully vaccinated against Covid by July 11, the health ministry announced on Thursday, while 87.5 per cent of the adult population has had at least one shot.

Full vaccination entails two shots of an approved vaccine.

For those aged between five and 11, the number was 10.2 per cent, while 49.5 per cent of those aged between 12 and 15 are fully vaccinated as are 60 per cent of those aged between 16 and 17 and 71.9 per cent of those aged 18 to 19.

Moreover, 65.5 per cent of the population aged 18 and over have also had the third, booster shot while just 4.2 per cent of the adult population has had the fourth.

Regarding those aged 60 and over, 86.3 per cent has had the third booster shot while just 14.9 per cent has had the fourth.

The above-mentioned vaccination coverage rates have been calculated based on the revised 2020 census.
