Police in Limassol have arrested a 69-year-old man suspected of embezzling €10,000 from a 59-year-old, relating to a property sale fraud case.

According to Limassol CID, last September an agreement was reached between the suspect and the complainant for the purchase of an apartment. The complainant handed over €10,000 as an advance payment.

Later, the 59-year-old realised that the property had been transferred by the suspect to a relative, rendering their agreement invalid.

The case was reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the 69-year-old under a court warrant to facilitate further investigation.
