Missing elderly woman found dead near Polemidia

An elderly woman, reported missing since Tuesday, was on Thursday found dead in an open-air area near the Polemidia reservoir in Limassol.

The body of Varvara Pouri, 70, was spotted by relatives at the site around 6pm.

She had gone missing from her home on Tuesday morning. Search parties, as well as drones and a helicopter, had been trying to track down Pouri in the wider area since then.

An autopsy will be carried out on her body at Limassol hospital to determine the precise cause of death.
