Police on Monday in Nicosia arrested a man for possession of a stolen bicycle, after its rightful owner spotted it being advertised for sale online.

According to the police, the victim of the theft filed a report on Monday after he saw a bicycle similar to his listed on an online sales page. According to the complainant, the bicycle, worth €450, was stolen between June 5 and 6.

Police established that the seller was a 29-year-old resident of Nicosia and located the man, who was found with the bicycle, while further tests confirmed it was indeed the stolen one.

In a search that followed at the man’s home, three other bicycles were found, for which he did not have adequate explanation.

The bicycles were seized as evidence and an arrest warrant was obtained against the 29-year-old, who was taken into custody.

Agios Dometios police are investigating the case.
