Hellenic Bank announces resignation of board member and CFO Lars Kramer

Lars Kramer leaves Hellenic Bank for Dutch ABN-AMRO
Hellenic Bank on Wednesday announced the resignation of Lars Kramer from the position of Executive Member of the Board of Directors.
Kramer is to remain as Chief Financial Officer of the bank until April of this year.

Kramer has been CFO since 2017, and on the board of directors  of Hellenic Bank for four years. He is credited with boosting profit at the bank, and in improving the management of non-performing loans.

Kramer has been tapped by Dutch bank ABN-AMRO, one of the largest retail banks in the country, as CFO.

Tom de Swaan, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ABN AMRO, commented on the strong performance  by Kramer at the Cyprus bank.
“The Supervisory Board is pleased with the nomination of Lars Kramer. His superb track record as CFO and
the extensive experience gained over 25 years in various top positions in the banking sector
make him ideally suited for the position of CFO on the Executive Board of ABN AMRO. We expect
that Kramer will make an important contribution with his leadership qualities and strategic skills
the successful implementation of ABN AMRO’s strategy.”

The Hellenic group is already in the process of replacing Kramer as CFO, according to sources at the bank.

The 54-year-old Kramer is a native of Germany, educated at the University of South Africa with degrees in accounting and he has a Master’s degree in Business Administration-Finance, Markets and Strategy from the University of Cape Town.
Kramer started his career at PwC South Africa, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Between 2012 and March 2017 he was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for ING Wholesale Bank. He joined the ING Group in 1997 and over a period of two decades held a number of finance-related positions based in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Netherlands, including CFO for ING Retail Banking Direct & International (between 2010 – 2012), CFO for ING Direct (between 2008 – 2010) and CFO for ING Wholesale Asia (between 2003 – 2008).
