Second quake near Limassol (Updated)

A magnitude 3.1 earthquake was felt in Limassol on Wednesday, the second one of the day.

According to the geological survey department, the quake was recorded at 4.43pm. Its epicentre was Gerasa, 14 kilometres northwest of Limassol. Its depth was 20 kilometres.

It was the second quake felt in the area on Wednesday. A 3.3 magnitude temblor with roughly the same epicentre had been recorded at 7.53am.

Around 20 aftershocks were recorded afterwards but had not been felt, the department said.

There were no reports of damage.
