A 47-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stealing €4,500 worth of tools from a warehouse, police said on Tuesday.

The theft was reported to the police on December 13 by the director of a construction company.

According to his statement, between December 1 and the date of the report, unknown people broke into the warehouse of his company in Nicosia and stole various tools worth around €4,500.

During investigations into the case, officers found the suspect near the warehouse carrying a shopping cart that contained several tools.

The man was arrested after the company’s director recognised the stolen items, police said.
