Police on Monday caught an 18-year-old driver on the Nicosia – Larnaca highway, travelling at 176 km/h instead of the permitted 100km/h.

According to a police statement, police attempted to halt the driver in the vicinity of Koshi shortly after 7pm and the driver did not initially obey the police signal.

Police established the driver’s identity and age, and he was eventually arrested, charged in writing for the offences committed, and released to be summoned to court at a later date.
