The potential impact of the ongoing crisis in Gaza and any potential further escalation were discussed at a meeting of the National Security Council on Tuesday.

The meeting – consisting of various ministers and the heads of the police and national guard – was chaired by President Nikos Christodoulides.

In addition to the potential impact of the conflict on Cyprus, the council also discussed preventative measures that can be taken to prepare Cyprus for such an eventuality, as well as Cyprus’ role in terms of providing humanitarian aid and moves to help repatriate third country nationals through the island.
