The Paphos seafront after rough seas threw seaweed onto the promenade

Inclement weather in Paphos caused havoc locally, with the fire service called to assist in five separate incidents across the district.

Four of the incidents involved trees being blown over by strong winds, while the other saw a road sign blown onto its side.

Meanwhile, the village of Panayia was without electricity after the cable connecting the village to the electricity grid was severed in the wind, while other areas of the Paphos district are also reportedly without power.

Elsewhere, in the early hours of Sunday morning, a catamaran-style sailing boat ran aground in the Coral Bay area.

In Kato Paphos, too, rough seas launched masses of seaweed onto the seafront, covering the promenade.
