Driver who evaded traffic check found with crystal meth

Paphos Police HQ

A 30-year-old man who avoided a traffic check was later found with crystal meth, police said on Friday.

The man was spotted early on Thursday driving at 81kh/h on a Paphos road where the speed limit is 50 km per hour.

Police signalled him to stop and he parked his car for a check but drove off once officers approached his car.

Later investigations showed the man had had his licence revoked by the road transport department.

He was arrested late on Thursday.

Officers found a small plastic bag with about 0.5g of methamphetamine in his possession.
