How a 583-year-old Italian mural is professionally restored

In this video, we meet Andrea Sozzi Sabatini, CEO of Etrurio, an olive-oil company in Tuscany, who came across a 583-year-old fresco in an apartment block basement, while searching for a base for his business.

Andrea walks us through how this ancient fresco was restored by his conservationist, Marco… a process that includes filling cracks in the wall to make it sturdy, removing plaster that was put over the painting throughout the years, and repainting the fresco with natural pigments.
