Cyclist in critical condition

A cyclist is in critical condition after the driver of a car tried to overtake but crashed into him, along the Paralimni-Sotira road.

Famagusta police spokesman Steve Theodoulou said that the incident occurred at about midday on Monday. The cyclist was transferred by ambulance to Nicosia general hospital.

The 75-year-old driver of the car underwent an alcohol test which came back negative, while local media reported that the driver attempted to overtake the cyclist.
