Paphos police arrest two for investigated case of drugs

Police arrested two people shortly after midnight on Thursday for an investigated case of possession and use of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of drugs.

According to the Paphos CID chief Michalis Nikolaou, traffic police on patrol stopped a vehicle around 12.10am on Archbishop Makarios Avenue driven by a 36-year-old man with a 20-year-old female passenger.

Police searched the vehicle and found the woman in possession 3.5g cannabis, where after she was was arrested for the evident crime.

The 36-year-old driver submitted to a drug test and was found to be positive. The two were taken to the Paphos anti-drugs unit (Ykan) offices, accused in writing and released.
