Today’s weather: Mostly clear, afternoon showers

On Tuesday the weather will start off mostly clear with increasing cloud cover in the afternoon expected to bring isolated rains and storms, mainly in the mountains and the eastern half of the island. Winds will initially be variable and light, 3 Beaufort, soon turning south-westerly to north-westerly, light to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort and locally strong, up to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be rough. Temperatures will rise to 32C in the interior, 30C on the north coast, 28C on the remaining coasts and 22C in the higher mountains.

Overnight the weather will be mostly clear with increased low clouds at times. The winds will gradually turn north-westerly to north-easterly, weak, up to 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to 17C in the interior, 18C on the coasts and 12C in the higher mountains.

On Wednesday, clouds in the afternoon are expected to bring isolated rains and possibly an isolated storm, mainly in the mountains and the interior. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly.

Thursday will be mostly clear, with temporarily increased afternoon clouds expected to bring rain, mainly in the mountains. Temperatures are expected to rise gradually, to reach slightly above average for the season.

Friday will be mostly sunny. Temperatures are expected to continue to rise gradually.
