Coronavirus: 146 people booked for breaching decrees

Police conducted more than 12,000 checks and booked 146 people for breaching coronavirus measures in 24 hours leading up to 6am on Thursday.

In total, 12,104 checks were carried out, 4,124 in Nicosia, 3,700 in Limassol, 959 in Paphos, 1,063 in Larnaca, 1,088 in Famagusta and 712 in Morphou.

A total of 38 individuals were fined in Nicosia, 44 in Limassol, 19 in Larnaca, 12 in Paphos, 24 in Famagusta and one in Morphou.

Marine police did not book anybody as the result of 47 inspections.

Traffic police and the rapid response unit carried out an additional 411 checks and fined eight persons.
