With the arrival of warm weather, one Paphos establishment is getting ready to welcome guests back into its garden. The outdoor season at Technopolis 20 begins this weekend as the venue hosts a special garden opening event on Saturday with live music from a local, bi-communal band. Island Seeds will perform a concert at the Paphos cultural centre as they embark on a mini tour presenting new music.

Seven artists will take Technopolis 20’s garden stage to introduce Paphos audiences to their dreamy soul-infused melodies, pulsating psychedelic grooves and esoteric lyrics. The band’s music is described as ‘Mediterranean soul’, blending music beyond borders. The band was born in the spring of 2022, formed over coffee within Nicosia’s buffer zone. This summer, band members Alexis Sunder, Ezgi Akgürgen, Cemre Arca, Alexandra Astreou Karydes, Alexandros Komodromos, Arman Tatlicioglu and Ulaş Öğüç will present songs from their recently recorded debut EP – which also features collaborations with other Cypriot artists across the divide. In addition, their performances will include material from the members’ solo projects, enriching their set with introspective slow-jams and varied impressions of the Cypriot reality.

Before Island Seeds take the garden stage in the evening though, one more event will happen at Technopolis 20 on Saturday. Kivotos Gallery is travelling to Technopolis 20, from 3pm to 7pm, for a special pop-up event. A collection of handmade jewellery, ceramics, metal work and glass work will be presented inviting visitors to browse the artwork.
