Priests prohibiting the burial of non-Christians is a lie, Paphos bishop says

tychikos

Paphos bishop Tychikos on Sunday denied allegations that the church refused to bury non-Christians in local cemeteries.

He said such information comes from circles whose sole purpose is to tarnish his image through “lies” and “non-existent news”.

The bishop was responding to reports that emerged the previous day which suggested that he and other priests in Paphos have prohibited the burial of the bodies of Muslims and other non-Christian people in the cemeteries.

For the case, the bishop said he has instructed his lawyers to take “appropriate legal action” also against any media outlet that published or republished the “malicious and false publication”.
