President Nikos Christodoulides will host a meeting aimed at making decisions to prevent and deal with fires and floods in October, according to fire brigade chief Nikos Logginos.

The meeting is set to be attended by “all the involved services and ministries”, including the fire brigade, the police, the forestry department, the public order ministry, and the agriculture ministry.

Speaking to the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), Logginos said he believes the meeting will take place on October 3.

In addition, a meeting was held on Thursday between delegations of the involved services “so there could be a first exchange of views on the measures proposed by each side”.
