202 individuals deported from Cyprus in latest crackdown

A total of 202 people were deported from Cyprus over the past week, an announcement from the police said on Friday, after the individuals were found to be residing illegally in Cyprus.

According to the police, the total number of people deported this year so far is 8,385.

The police said that during the week a joint deportation flight of Frontex took place, in which Cyprus also participated for the 12th time this year.

The 13th participation of Cyprus in a joint repatriation and deportation operation is scheduled to take place on November 25, 2023.

It is noted that since the beginning of the year 8,385 people, who resided illegally in Cyprus, have been deported.

The efforts of the police and the civil registry and migration service to maximize the number of returns continue, the announcement concludes.
