A 63-year-old man is wanted by police in Paphos after allegedly swindling two people out of a combined total of €11,500.

According to the Paphos police’s deputy chief of operations Michalis Nikolaou, the man received €6,500 from a 67-year-old who believed he was paying a deposit for an apartment, and €5,000 from a 70-year-old who believed he was obtaining a taxi licence.

In both cases, he allegedly convinced the complainants that they would receive the services for which they had paid him but failed to deliver on either occasion.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
