A 25-year-old man from Paphos was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and “causing concern”.

Paphos police’s deputy chief of operations Michalis Nikolaou explained that the incident occurred on Boumboulinas street, which is located in the centre of the town near the Karavella bus station.

He said police received a call regarding a person “causing concern” on the street, before heading to the scene.

Upon their arrival, he said, the man attacked them by “pushing them, shouting, and causing concern”.

He attempted to resist arrest, but police eventually succeeded in arresting him and took him into custody.
