Fourteen-year-old hit while crossing street appears to have escaped unscathed

A 14-year-old girl who was dragged by a vehicle in Geroskipou is recovering satisfactorily, police announced on Wednesday.

According to the police, the girl was hit around 4pm by a 37-year-old female driver on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Geroskipou, who had her minor daughter as a passenger.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, which seems to have occurred as the girl was crossing the street.

The 14-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Paphos General Hospital A&E, and after being examined by the doctor on duty, she was kept for observation.

Her health condition, according to the treating doctor, is progressing satisfactorily and does not cause concern.

The driver of the vehicle tested negative for alcohol.

The incident is under ongoing investigation.
