Coronavirus: Limassol bishop released from hospital

Bishop Athanasios of Limassol

Limassol bishop Athanasios was on Monday discharged from Nicosia general hospital, where he had been admitted last week after testing positive for the coronavirus.

A statement by the Limassol Holy Diocese said Athanasios had completed his pharmaceutical treatment at the hospital and that his symptoms had retreated.

He will be self-isolating in his quarters at the bishopric.

The diocese expressed its thanks to the medical personnel, as well as to all who wished Athanasios well.

On March 24, when news of the bishop’s positive diagnosis broke, Athanasios was said to be symptom-free.
