Eighteen migrants arrive in Kato Pyrgos

vessel

A group of eighteen irregular migrants arrived in Kato Pyrgos at around 5am on Thursday.

Among them is a woman with two children believed to be 5 or 6 years old. The other 15 are men.

They reportedly crossed on foot from Limnitis to Kato Pyrgos after arriving by boat in the north.

Police officers did not find the boat which brought them but a coast guard vessel is still searching for signs of traffickers in the sea.

The migrants will be registered and taken to a reception centre.
