Coronavirus: 8,333 checks, 170 booked

Police booked 169 individuals and one establishment for breaching protocols to control the spread of the coronavirus from Wednesday until Thursday morning.

Officers carried out 8,333 checks, 1,740 in Nicosia, 1,324 in Limassol, 1,677 in Larnaca, 990 in Paphos, 850 in Famagusta and 805 in Morphou.

68 persons were fined in Limassol, 29 in Nicosia, 15 in Larnaca, 22 in Paphos and 19 in Famagusta.

Traffic police checked 947 people and booked 16 of them.

Most individuals did not wear masks or neglected to send an SMS asking for permission to leave their homes.
