A 23-year-old man was arrested on Sunday morning for driving on the highway near Zygi at 189 kilometres an hour in instead of the legal 100 km/h, police said.
The speeder was caught at around 9am by traffic police and taken to Zygi police station where he was charged.
He is due to appear in court on Monday.
