Former justice minister Loucas Louca dies aged 56

Former Justice Minister – 2008 to 2013 – Loucas Louca passed away on Thursday, at the age of 56, after battling a heart condition.

His funeral will be held on Friday 3 pm at the Apostolos Andreas church in Plati, Aglandjia.

Louca had served as justice minister during the Presidency of Demetris Christofias.

Previously, he had been appointed on the board of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus.

In 1998, he was one of the founding members of the Bastion for the Reconstruction of the Centre political movement.

An alumnus of Pancyprian Gymnasium in 1973, he served as a conscript during the 1974 Turkish invasion, in which he was injured in a battle in Kyrenia.

He graduated law school in Athens and had maintained his own law firm in Nicosia since 1982.
